Tsavo East & West Safari
Tsavo East · Tsavo West
Red elephants, the Mzima Springs and Lugard Falls across Kenya's two largest parks.
A short, unhurried safari built around a boutique tented camp in the Maasai Mara, Kenya's most famous reserve. Light-aircraft transfers from Nairobi replace a long road journey, so you arrive in time for an afternoon game drive on day one.
The Mara has some of the highest concentrations of big cats in Africa, with lion prides, cheetah and leopard seen on most drives. From July to October the wildebeest and zebra herds of the Great Migration cross the Mara River, and the rest of the year the open grassland still delivers excellent game viewing.
Each day follows the rhythm of the bush: an early drive when the animals are most active, brunch and a rest at camp, then an afternoon drive that ends with sundowners on the plains. A private vehicle and guide means you choose how long to stay at every sighting.
Light aircraft have a soft-bag luggage limit of about 15 kg per person. Neutral clothing, a warm layer for early mornings and binoculars are recommended.
